Garold David Kennedy, age 69, a resident of Moatsville, passed away Thursday, July 16, 2020 in the United Hospital Center. Garold was born March 18, 1951 in Philippi, a son of the late Arthur and Agnes (Mayle) Kennedy. Surviving is-
Daughter, Agnes Dawn Kennedy of Italy
Sister, Deloris Jean Mayle of Canton, OH
Brothers, Arthur Kennedy Jr, and wife Ada Mae
Joseph Kennedy and wife Colletta
Deannie Kennedy all of Moatsville
Garold was preceded in death by brother Donnie Rockford Kennedy. In earlier years he worked at Barbour County EMS. Garold enjoyed hunting and fishing, he was a member of People’s Chapel Church.
Friends will be received at the Wright Funeral Home and Crematory 220 N. Walnut St. Philippi on Sunday July 19, from 2-8 pm and on Monday July 20 from 8 am- 1 pm. Funeral service will be conducted at 1 pm with Rev. Ruston Seaman officiating. Interment will follow in the Welch Cemetery.

I began my EMS career with Garold back in 1985. He was always smiling and usually up to no good planning his next joke victim. During the flood of '85 i was sent with Garold and Rickey Mayle to assist with evacuations only to learn neither of them could swim. So you can guess who did all the work! Rest easy Garold!
