Doreen Webb left a message on October 30, 2018:
Seech Family, I was sorry to read of the passing of your Beloved Garret. The Bible says death is a enemy of life and it’s sting can be very painful. (1Corinthians 15:26,55,56) Jesus liken death to a deep sleep or peaceful rest. (John 11:11-14) Garret is not suffering any pain or heartache. The dead has the wonderful hope of a resurrection to a righteous new world where sickness and death will be no more. (John 5:28,29 Isaiah 25:8, 33:24) May these Bible truths be a source of comfort to your family as you cherish all the special moments that you have shared together. Sincerely, Doreen Webb

To the Family of Garret Seech: My name is Judith Delaney. We have not met. I grew up in Barbour County but have not lived there for many years. I was saddened to read of your loss. I lost my husband last year and understand your pain. I found comfort in the Bible. Our organization recently published an online magazine on coping with grief which I found helpful. https://www.jw.org/finder?wtlocale=E&issue=2018-11&pub=g18&srcid=share Additional information may be found on the website: jw.org, or you can feel free to contact me at jdelaneybiblestudies@gmail.com

I met Garret at Wheeler Middle School in Hawaii. He was always so sweet and funny and would tell me I was so pretty even when I didn’t think I was! I remember a day I mistakenly wore a beanie to school forgetting Garret sat right behind me in math class. I didn’t know there was a huge hole in it.. so when I got home & finally took off my beanie, there were countless crayons & pens falls out of it! I laughed so hard! I knew I had heard him snickering behind me that whole period. I couldn’t even be mad because I know he had no ill intent behind it. You will be greatly missed Garret . I’m sorry life didn’t bring us back to each other within your time gracing this planet but we will meet again . Rest in heaven beautiful boy.

Garret, where do I begin. You were SO full of life. You never failed to make me smile, no matter how annoyed I would get at you, something made me never be able to stay that way. You were so opinionated just like me but you carried it so much better than I ever could. I am going to miss your “gay gasp” as you would call it, and you playing with my hair and randomly grabbing my hand to hold in class. You are going to be terribly missed. We all love you. To your parents- y’all raised an amazing son, he loved you and his brother so much. He wanted to make all of you proud. My prayers and thoughts go out to you all.

I am so very sorry for your loss. I know nothing I can say will remove your pain. I was Garret’s professor at Wesleyan last year. ( he called me professor Maxwell the great❤️) I loved this boy dearly! He was always willing to be a Volunteer in class, and was never scared to stand up for a friend that he thought had been wronged. He was the leader of the pack so to say, and I never met a student that didn’t like him. Garret loved to participate in group prayer and always appreciated when I told him I would pray for him. I feel so honored to have been his professor and friend and I am so glad the he kept in contact with me. Sincerely, Pamela Maxwell
