Georgia Beymer, age 88, a resident of Corder Ave. Philippi, passed away on Friday March 31, 2017 at her residence following an extended illness. Georgia was born on October 14, 1925 in Ripley, WV a daughter of the late Flossie (Casto) Balser and stepfather, Wade Balser. Georgia was united in marriage on September 10, 1949 to her husband of 67 years Joe Beymer who survives at home. Also surviving

She was affectionately known as “Nana” to her two grandchildren, Devon Freeman and husband Andy Freeman of New Albany, OH, Kent Smith of Philippi. She also cherished her two great grandchildren, Eli Beymer Freeman, and Isla Drew Freeman.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her sister, Zelma Casto Miller. She attended Ripley High School and Capital City Business College, in Charleston WV. She was employed by Monongalia Board of Education.
Georgia was a cherished wife, mother, and grandmother, who loved feeding her friends and family and will be tremendously missed.
The family wishes to thank all of the many excellent caregiver for their care, love, and support while Georgia remained in her home, as well as the staff of Mt. Hospice.
Georgia’s request cremation will be honored.
Friends will be received at the Wright Funeral Home 220 N. Walnut St. Philippi on Sunday April 2, from 1-3 pm. A memorial service will be held at 3 pm with Pastor Bryan Headley and Speaker Lewis Bartlett officiating. Inurnment will follow in the Mt. Vernon Memorial Cemetery. In lieu flowers, contributions in Georgia’s memory may be made to Mt. Hospice 1002 S. Crim Ave. Belington, WV 26250.
