Geraldine Sutton

Geraldine "Gerry" Sutton, age 87, a resident of Rt. 3 Mansfield Addition Philippi passed away Saturday July 28, 2012 in Mansfield Place of Broaddus Hospital. She was born April 9, 1925 in Barbour Co. a daughter of the late Earl and Addie (Shaffer) Frey. She was united in marriage on October 25, 1947 to James Rexall Sutton who preceded her in death on November 18, 2001. Surviving are three children; Phyllis Tucker and husband Albert James R. Sutton and wife Rochell Karen Sutton all of Philippi One sister: Hilda Malcolm One brother: Don Frey both of Philippi Six grandchildren: Brent Tucker and wife Lori, Brian Tucker, Melissa Wilfong and husband Matthew, Elizabeth Grimes and husband Rodney, Jamie Deem and husband Kane, Bill Sutton. Seven great grandchildren; Kody and Tori Tucker, Chase and Brooke Wilfong, Coalton and Gauge Grimes, and Ellery Rose Deem. Mrs. Sutton was preceded in death by one brother; William Ancel Frey. She worked as a manager for the G.C. Murphy's Co., she was a member of the Philippi O.E.S Chapter #41, United Methodist Women's Association, Shook's Run Homemakers, and the Mansfield United Methodist Church. Friends will be received at Wright Funeral Home 216 N. Walnut St. Philippi on Tuesday July 31, from 4-8 pm the Philippi O.E.S Chapter #41 will conduct a memorial service at 7:30 pm. Visitation will resume on Wednesday August 1, from 8 am -1 pm the service hour with Rev Dr. Robert A. Sisler officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Vernon Memorial Cemetery.
