Gertrude Lucille Cross

Gertrude Lucille Cross age 93 a resident of Elkton, VA and former resident of Philippi passed away on Monday, October 26, 2015 at her residence. She was born November 24, 1921 in Nestorville, WV a daughter of the late Homer and Gay Kelley. She was united in marriage to Robert N. Cross who preceded her in death. Surviving is, one daughter, Pamela S. McDaniels one son, Michael Keith Cross, both of Elkton, VA five grandchildren, LeAnn McDaniels, Winchester, VA; Nicole McDaniels, Elkton, VA; Michael Cross, Shaun Cross, both of Philippi and Teresa Cross, Fairmont, WV one great-grandson, Christian Shifflett, Elkton VA Ms. Cross was preceded in death by one son, Roger Lynn Cross; two sisters, Edith Marsh and Goldie Hardin; three brothers, Dorsey Kelley, Carl Kelley and Clifford Kelley; one son-in-law, Philip McDaniels. She retired as a Nurse’s Aide from Broaddus Hospital and attended Mary’s Chapel Church. Lucille’s request for cremation was honored. Friends will be received at Mary’s Chapel Church on Saturday, October 31, 2015 for a Celebration of Life from 10 am-11 am the service hour with Rev. Don Meadows, Pastor Gina Stewart and Pastor Gary Phillips officiating.
