Gwendolyn Ice

Gwendolyn A. Ice, age 88, a resident of Philippi and a former resident of Union Community, passed away Saturday August 17, 2019 in Mansfield Place of Broaddus Hospital. Gwen was born September 19, 1930 in Parkersburg, WV a daughter of the late Allie B. and Lulu (Cunningham) McCray. Gwen was united in marriage on October 1, 1960 to Rhoderick D. Ice who preceded her in death on April 27, 2018. Surviving is-

Three great grandchildren, Adara Hoffman, Jaden Hoffman, and Asher Mikalacki

Gwen was the last surviving member of her immediate family having been preceded in death by two sisters, Audrey Morrison, and Faenon Anderson, three brothers, Ronald, Fritz, and Franklin McCray.

Gwen was a homemaker and earlier had worked as a nurse at St. Joseph Hospital in Parkersburg, and at Public Debt as a data processor.

Gwen was a Sunday School Teacher, was leader of the Bible Classes, she accompanied her husband when having services at the local nursing homes, she was always encouraging not only with her family but her church family and others she helped. Gwen enjoyed cooking and baking.

Friends will be received at the Union Church of Christ on Tuesday August 20, from 11 am- 1 pm. Funeral services will be held at 1 pm the Evangelist Stan Jenkins officiating. Interment will follow on Wednesday August 21 at 11 am at the Evergreen Cemetery in Parkersburg, WV.
