Ida Emogene Cutright, age 93, a resident of S. Main St. Philippi passed away Sunday May 4, 2014 at the United Hospital Center after an extended illness. She was born November 8, 1920, the daughter of the late John P. and Lena P. (Douglas) Siron. On October 31, 1941 she married Mirrel B. Cutright, who preceded her in death on June 9, 1999, after 57 years of marriage.

Three grandchildren and spouses, John Eric Cutright and wife Ashley of Philippi
Patricia Cutright Poling and husband Ben of Philippi
Kristin Cutright Hodge and husband James Matt of Grafton
Seven great grandchildren, Gabriella Cutright, of Philippi, Kiera and Noah Hodge of Philippi, Landon and Kimberly Hodge of Grafton, Jason and Morgan Poling of Philippi.
She is also survived by one brother John P. Siron, Jr. and wife Ruby of Rock Cave
Sister-in-law Ruth White of Elkins
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, James R. and Guy E. Siron
Ida graduated from Buckhannon Upshur High School in 1941 and was also first runner-up in the West Virginia Strawberry festival that same year. In 1942, she worked as a sales clerk for JC Penney. In 1950, Ida and her husband moved to Philippi and became owner/operators of the South End Market, before retiring in 1983 after 33 years in business. Mrs. Cutright was a loving Mother and Grandmother.
Mrs. Cutright attended Crim Memorial United Methodist Church in Philippi and was a member of the United Methodist Women circle.
Friends will be received at the Wright Funeral Home 216 N. Walnut St. Philippi on Wednesday May 7, from 5-8 pm and on Thursday May 8, from 8 am- 2 pm the service hour with Rev. Tim Bleigh and Pastor Bryan Headley officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Vernon Memorial Cemetery.
