Ira Lee Dadisman III, aged 77, passed away peacefully on March 13, 2024, at Southpoint Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in Durham, North Carolina. He was born on March 5, 1947, in Philippi, West Virginia to Ira Lee Dadisman Jr. and Edith Louise (Stewart) Dadisman.
Lee graduated in 1965 from Philip Barbour High School in Philippi, West Virginia. He answered the call to serve his country in the United States Navy from December 1967 until September 1973. Lee was assigned to PBR Mobile Base One (MB-1) in the southwestern Mekong Delta region of Vietnam from May 1970 to April 1971. MB-1, stationed primarily in the Mekong Delta, supported operations along the Mekong River and its tributaries. Upon returning from Vietnam, Lee pursued higher education at Morris Harvey College, now known as the University of Charleston. He graduated in May 1976 with a Bachelor of Science in Business Management and a Minor in Accounting.
Lee dedicated much of his career to public service, working with organizations such as West Virginia Rehabilitation Services, YWCA, and FEMA/Homeland Security where he served as a Housing Advisor and Disaster Assistance Employee. His commitment to helping others extended beyond his professional life. He served as a member of Lions International for 23 years. Lee held leadership roles within various Lions Clubs, including serving as President and Secretary of the Southridge/Pacesetters Lions Clubs in 1996-1997, and President and Secretary of the Dunbar Lions Club Zone.
Lee is survived by his brothers Larry Brent Dadisman and Monte Lyle Dadisman. He is preceded in death by his father, Ira Lee Dadisman Jr., his mother, Edith Louise (Stewart) Dadisman, and his brother, David Lynn Dadisman.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, March 23, 2024 at Mount Vernon Memorial Cemetery in Philippi, West Virginia, at 1:00 PM.
