Jacqueline Rose Haddix, age 73, a resident of Dayton Park Philippi passed away unexpectedly on Friday April 12, 2013 in Broaddus Hospital. She was born June 12, 1939 in Galloway a daughter of the late Woodrow and Virginia (Bennett) Purkey. She was united in marriage on September 26, 1959 to Stanley “Jack” Haddix who survives at home. One daughter: Sheri Campbell and husband Gene of Philippi
One son: Dewayne Haddix and wife Rebecca of Morgantown
Two sisters: Judy Weekley and husband George of Volga
Jennifer Conaway and husband Larry of Parkersburg
Four grandchildren: Garrett Phillips and wife Jennifer, Mallory Zuercher and husband John, Abigail Haddix, Madison Haddix
Two great grandchildren: Lydia Phillips, and Dylan Phillips
Mrs. Haddix was preceded in death by two brothers; Ronald and Woodrow “Butch” Purkey
Jackie retired from the Barbour County Board of Education as a Accountant. She was a past city councilman, a member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, the Barbour County Association Retired School Employees, and the WV Association of Retired School Employees. She attended the Crim United Methodist Church.
Friends will be received at the Wright Funeral Home 216 N. Walnut St. Philippi on Sunday April 14, from 5-8 pm and on Monday April 15, from 8 am – 1 pm the service hour with Rev. Dr. Dan Unger officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Vernon Memorial Cemetery.
