James Simon

James W. Simon age 92 a resident of Mansfield Place and a former resident of Rt. 3 Philippi passed away on Friday, March 1, 2013. He was born September 13, 1920 in Warren, Ohio a son of the late Adlai and Alice (Anglin) Simon. He was united in marriage in October 1943 to Mary Agnes (Thrasher) Simon who preceded him in death January 24, 2005. Surviving is, One daughter, Loretta “Jeanne” Anglin and husband Rodger of Philippi One son, Timothy W. Simon and wife Robyn of Albuquerque, New Mexico One sister, Eloise Lubsy of Escondido, CA One brother, Frank Simon and wife Eileen of Vista, CA Six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren He was preceded in death by one infant daughter Mary Louise Simon; one son, James H. Simon; one infant brother; two brothers, Harry Simon and Earl Simon and one sister, Maxine Leach. Mr. Simon worked as a shop foreman and retired from C & W Coal Co. He served in the CC Camp in earlier years and enjoyed gardening. He was a past member of Philippi United Methodist Church. Friends will be received at the Wright Funeral Home 216 N. Walnut St. on Wednesday March 6, 2013 from 6-8:00 pm and on Thursday March 7, from 8-11:00 am the service hour with Rev. Linda Payton officiating. Interment will follow in Mary’s Chapel Cemetery.
