Jared Ashley McGee

Jared Ashley McGee, age 40, was called home on Wednesday May 3, 2023. Jared was born June 4, 1982 in Fairmont, WV a son of the late Odie Monroe McGee and Annetta Marie (Mayle) McGee Haddix who survives in Buckhannon. Also surviving are brothers; Kevin M. McGee of Buckhannon, Gregory M. McGee and wife Cheryl of Shreveport, Louisiana, Jeffrey “Mark” McGee and wife Angie of Parsons, Anthony M. McGee and wife Dana of Oakland, MD, Walter M. McGee of Buckhannon, Joshua D. McGee and wife Danelle of Clarksburg; nephews Shaun McGee of Parsons, Dylan McGee of Buckhannon and cousin Shaun Mayle of Terra Alta, whom were more like brothers to him; uncle Arthur "Nelson" Bolyard of Jane Lew, with whom he had a special bond and admiration; several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins whom he loved dearly. Jared was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Gordon and Thressa McGee; maternal grandparents, Norman and Velma Mayle; father, Odie McGee; sisters-in-law, Twila McGee, and Sandy Alexander. Jared loved attending the Higher Ground Apostolic Church in Fellowsville where he never missed a Sunday service. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, cooking, playing video games, and watching football rooting on his favorite team the Dallas Cowboys. Jared liked fast cars, Harley Davidsons and all things Chuck Norris. Friends will be received at the Wright Funeral Home and on-site Crematory 220 N. Walnut St. Philippi on Monday May 8, from 6-8 pm and on Tuesday May 9, from 11 am- 1 pm. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 pm with Pastor Chad Bolyard officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Olive Cemetery.

  3. Maw/Grandma, Pops-and all the boys, Our prayers are with you all. It’s still hard to believe but thank God he loved going to church and reading his Bible. May you find comfort in God’s love and may Jesus give you peace to get through this difficult time. We love you all very much and PLEASE TAKE CARE OF MAW/GRANDMA because she is really gonna need you boys now. LOVE AND PRAYERS!!

  4. Although I never had the pleasure of meeting Jared, we do work with Clayton and anyone from that family tree line is good by me, RIP Mr. McGee maybe we meet down the road.
