Marylou Jean Kurucz-Wagner, age 86, a resident of Galloway, passed away Sunday March 13, 2022 in the United Hospital Center. Jean was born January 21, 1936 at Camp Run Hollow in Barbour County, a daughter of the late Pinnell and Loma Elizabeth (Prince) Cleavenger. Jean was united in marriage to Jim Wagner who survives. Also surviving is daughter Debbie Haddix and husband Randy of Buckhannon, grandchildren Justin Luff, Jenny Luff and companion Johnathan Evix, Joshua Haddix and wife Brittanni, and Andy Haddix, great grandchildren, Shelby Luff, Bella Sites, Lauren Evix, Marshal Evix, Ashley Luff, Joshua, Allen, and Matt Haddix.
Jean was the last surviving member of her immediate family having been preceded in death by brothers, Pete Cleavenger, Butch Cleavenger, sister Ruthie Harris, parents Pinnell and Elizabeth Cleavenger, husband Andy Kurucz, son Andy Kurucz Jr., daughter Donna Luff, son-in-law Todd Luff, and granddaughter, Megan Luff.
Jean was a member of the Mt. Vernon Baptist Church, and Queen Ester Chapter #11. She enjoyed shopping, playing cards, visiting and talking with family and friends, and really enjoyed her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Friends will be received at the Wright Funeral Home and Crematory 220 N. Walnut St. Philippi on Friday March 18, from 3-8 pm and on Saturday March 19, from 8-11 am. Funeral services will be conducted at 11am with Rev. Paul Byrd officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Vernon Memorial Cemetery.
