Jennis Baker

Jennis Joan (Haskins) Baker, age 84 a resident of Philippi, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday March 29, 2015 in the United Hospital Center. She was born January 18, 1931 in Owings, WV a daughter of the late Claude Bond “Johnny” and Stella (Smith) Haskins. She was united in marriage on June 3, 1950 to Gene E. Baker who survives at home. Also surviving One daughter; Donna Jean (Baker) Norman and husband Gary W. of Radford, VA Two sons; Steven Baker and wife Jill John H. Baker both of Philippi One sister; Linda Kay Davis of Bridgeport Seven grandchildren; Russell and Joyce (Riffle) Norman, Kristoffer and Jennifer (Neal) Norman, Joshua and Jamie (Blake) Baker, Nicholas and Marcy (Sigley) Baker, Daniel and Lorrie (Mayle) Baker, Nicole Tenney, Steven Baker. 10 great grandchildren; Rylan, Olivia, Elise, Lucas, Liam, Perry, Mason, Maddox, Abel Baker, and Hunter Norman. Mrs. Baker was a homemaker, she was an avid Mountaineer Fan, she enjoyed watching humming birds and her flowers, and enjoyed eating T & L Hotdogs, she was an animal lover and most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends Mrs. Baker was a graduate of Shinnston High School class of 1949, and enjoyed Faith Way Baptist Church. Friends will be received at the Wright Funeral Home 220 N. Walnut St. Philippi on Monday March 30, from 5-8 pm and on Tuesday March 31, from 8 am – 2pm the service hour with Rev. Downing Gregory officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Vernon Memorial Cemetery. Tuesday March 31, 2015, 2 pm at Wright Funeral Home Click for Map and Directions
