Jerry Dale Mitchell, age 74, a resident of Belington, WV passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday February 1, 2022. Jerry was born December 29, 1947 in Arden, WV, a son of the late Curtis D. and Martha Jane (McDermott) Mitchell. Jerry loved his mother very much and cared for her until her passing. Surviving is brother, Keith Mitchell of Moatsville. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Daris Mitchell. Jerry worked for GW Peoples Contracting in Pennsylvania, Ohio, and West Virginia locations. He also worked for 22 years for Harman Construction in Grafton, and then worked for WV Paving for two years. He loved to listen to music and enjoyed to sing gospel music. Jerry liked to watch basketball, football and other sports. He loved to attend churches, Jerry liked Dodge trucks, shelties, and he also enjoyed socializing with his friends on Facebook and posting videos. He liked driving back roads on summer evenings. Jerry liked the sound of a dobro, he was the caretaker of Arden. He liked to eat fried chicken and biscuits. Jerry requested that flowers be omitted.
Friends will be received at the Arden Church on Sunday February 6, 2022 from 1-2 pm. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 pm with Rev. Michael Rexroad officiating. Interment will follow in the Clemtown Cemetery.







Jerry was a special guy who would be there for his friends and family. We graduated the same year in high school then met again here at laurel view Apts. We will miss him here.
Jerry was a wonderful friend we messaged one another on our phones he would message me if he needed Tim's help. we went to country music together every Saturday evening at Webster in the summer we were looking forward to this summer. He would come to the Laundry room when we were doing laundry to just sit and talk. I am really going to miss you Jerry. RIP my friend see you again someday.
