Jerry David Stalnaker, age 82, a resident of Buckhannon, passed away Thursday March 23, 2023. Jerry was born February 16, 1941 in Philippi, a son of the late William Chester and Sara Helen (Talbott) Stalnaker. Jerry was united in marriage on December 31, 1965 to Annette Kay (Harper) Stalnaker who preceded him in death on March 22, 2015.
Surviving is children, Lori Morgan and fiancé George David, Todd Stalnaker and wife Andrea; grandchildren, Jaron, Jerin, Morgan, Emma, Jasmia, Zach, and Adam; great grandchildren, Serenity, Avyanna, Clayton, Casmiera, Amelia, Dawson, Kora, and expected twin boys; and also in addition several nieces and nephews.
Jerry was the last surviving member of his family having been preceded in death by brothers, William Stalnaker, Daniel Jo Stalnaker; sisters, Jean Love, Doris Lee Payne.
Jerry was the owner/operator of Stalnaker Coal Company. He enjoyed operating heavy equipment, spending time golfing, fishing, and riding his bike.
Friends will be received at the Wright Funeral Home and onsite Crematory 220 N. Walnut St. Philippi on Monday March 27, from 5-8 pm and on Tuesday March 28, from 8-11 am. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 am. Interment will follow in the Mt. Vernon Memorial Cemetery.
