Jerry Wayne Marteney

Jerry Wayne Marteney, age 70, resident of Buckhannon, passed away unexpectedly Thursday March 18, 2021 in Ruby Memorial Hospital. Jerry was born May 28, 1950 in Buckhannon, WV a son of the late George and Joann (Wagner) Marteney. Jerry was united in marriage to his wife Mary Ethel (Edens) Marteney who he dearly loved and missed every day since her passing on October 6, 2018. Surviving is Daughters, Barbara Gordon and husband Richard of Buckhannon Shannon McDaniels and husband Brian of Buckhannon Step daughter, Teresa Henderson and husband Terry of Philippi Brother, Lynn Marteney and wife Cheryl of Buckhannon Grandchildren, Tyler Gordon and wife Ashley of Clarksburg, Hunter McDaniels of Philippi, Ashley Hauk of Horner, and Kaiden McDaniels of Buckhannon Niece, Erin Marteney of Buckhannon Nephew, Jarrod Marteney and wife Kim of Buckhannon Jerry retired from SW Jack Drilling as a dozer operator. He was a member of the Moose Lodge #598, he was an avid farmer, and enjoyed gardening, hunting, and fishing. Jerry was an amazing Dad, incredible papaw, and pawpaw. Friends will be received at the Wright Funeral Home and Crematory 220 N. Walnut St. Philippi on Saturday March 20, from 1-4 pm. Funeral services will be conducted at 4 pm with Rev. Ed McDaniels officiating. Interment will follow in the Marteney Family Cemetery.
