John Kenneth Saffle, age 81, a resident of Volga, passed away Friday May 13, 2022 in Ruby Memorial Hospital from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. John was born June 10, 1940 at Boulder, WV a son of the late Milton Edward and Edna Lucille (Cool) Saffle. Surviving are sons, John David Saffle and wife Carissa, Tim Saffle and wife Tina; grandchildren, Kenneth Saffle, Timothy Saffle and wife Alix, Brittany Mitchell and husband Michael; four great grandchildren; brother, Terry Saffle and wife Luella; and several nieces and nephews; also his k-9 companion Jaxson.
John was preceded in death by his parents as well as a brother and sister-in-law, Gary and Aggie Saffle. In earlier years John was owner of Saffle Lumber, he worked for Eastern American Energy until his retirement. After retirement he was owner of Longview One Stop Store in Volga. John never missed a day at the auction or a good flea market. The people he met at his store was more like family and held a special place in his heart.
Friends will be received at the Wright Funeral Home and Crematory 220 N. Walnut St. Philippi on Tuesday May 17 from 5-8 pm and on Wednesday May 18, from 8 am- 1 pm. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 pm. Interment will follow in the Bethany Cemetery.
