John Paul Shaffer

John Paul Shaffer, age 33, a resident of Rt. 1 Volga passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday November 9, 2011at his residence. He was born August 30, 1978 in Fairmont, WV a son of Gary W. Shaffer of Boulder Community, Buckhannon, and Karen S. (Marteney) Shaffer of Volga. Also surviving One sister: Traci Mason of Audra Rd. Buckhannon One brother: Jason Shaffer and wife Constance of Philippi niece and nephews: Samantha, Hunter, and Cody Mason Grandmother: Mildred Marteney of Rt. 4 Buckhannon John Paul was preceded in death by his grandparents: Paul Marteney, John and Alta Shaffer. John Paul had worked as a lumber grader for Weyerhaeuser in Buckhannon and was a electrician. He was a Military Policeman for the 363rd Army Reserve in Grafton and was deployed twice to active duty. John Paul liked to be outdoors, he enjoyed fishing, golfing, and ginsenging. Friends will be received at the Wright Funeral Home 216 N. Walnut St. Philippi o Friday November 11, from 5-8 pm and on Saturday November 12 from 8 am- 2 pm the service hour with Rev. Randy Simms officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Vernon Memorial Cemetery with military honours being accorded.
