Joseph J. Savino, age 92, a resident of New Port Richey, FL passed away Saturday April 28, 2012 in Marliere Care Center in New Port Richey, FL. He was born April 16, 1920 in Brooklyn, NY a son of the late Andre and Elizabeth (Spano) Savino. He was united in marriage on September 1, 1945 to Ada V. (Bennett) Savino who preceded him in death on December 27, 1998 . Surviving is

Mr. Savino was the last surviving member of his immediate family having been preceded in death by three sisters, and four brothers.
He worked as a bartender for America Airlines. He served in the US Coast Guard during WWII.
Mr. Savino loved spending countless hours golfing.
Friends will be received at Wright Funeral Home 216 N. Walnut St. Philippi on Wednesday May 2, from 6-8 pm with a biblical prayer service being recited by Deacon Ray Shaw at 7:30 pm. visitation will resume on Thursday May 3, from 8 -10:30 am. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 am at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. Patsy Iaquinta as Celebrant, Scripture reading by Rev. Tim Bleigh. A fellowship dinner will immediately follow the Mass. Interment will follow at 1:15 pm at Shay’s Chapel Cemetery in Preston County with Fr. Jim O’Connor presiding, military honours will be a accorded.
