Joy Pauletta Scott, 54 of Belington departed this life Saturday, July 13 2013. She was the daughter of the late Paul C. “Sam” and Joy Lee (Upton) Harsh Scott of Belington. Since her 1977 graduation, Miss Scott has been a homemaker caring for both parents in their last days. She was preceded in death by her beloved grandparents, Melville and Lena (Murphy) Upton of Philippi and Howard and Dorcas (Riddle) Scott of Troy, WV
Miss Scott is survived by one sister and six brothers; James and Norma Mann of Morganfield, KY, Roger and Rebecca Harsh of Fairmont, Paul Scott of Piney Point, MD, Daniel and Vicky Scott of Philippi, James and Deborah Scott of Spring Hope, NC, Thomas and LuAnn Scott of Sacramento, CA and Robert and Jennifer Scott of Mullins, SC.
Eight aunts and two uncles, Geraldine Scott of Weston, Eva Russell Perrine of Buckhannon, June Scott Brake of Frederick, MD, Goldie Parks, Josephine Bucklew and Woodrow Upton all of Philippi, Gladys Harsh, Edna Thorne and William and Karen Upton all of Fairmont; two lifelong friends, Norma Spencer and Lois Palette of Farmdale, OH; two beloved cousins, Lena “Kitty” Pierce of Parsons, and Donna Scott of Weston; 12 nieces and nephews, 26 grand nieces and nephews, numerous cousins and foster brothers and sisters.
Miss Scott was a Brethren by faith being a member of the Shiloh Church of the Brethren.
