Loretta Jeanne Anglin

Loretta Jeanne Anglin, age 76, a resident of Philippi, passed away unexpectedly Monday April 24, 2023 at her residence. Jeanne was born October 27, 1947 in Barbour County, a daughter of the late James W. and Mary Agnes (Thrasher) Simon. Jeanne was united in marriage on December 2, 1971 to Rodger Blaine Anglin who survives. Also surviving are children Patty Cleavenger, James Anglin and wife Donna, Lee Anglin, and Shannon Goshert all of Philippi; grandchildren, Sara and Benjamin Cleavenger, Averie, Camrie, Gwynn Goshert; Brother, Timothy Warren Simon and wife Robyn of Albuquerque, New Mexico; and several nieces and nephews. Jeanne loved to go shopping and spending with time her grandchildren, she enjoyed gardening and tending to her flowers. Jeanne also enjoyed cooking, working crosswords puzzles, and reading chicken soup books. She was a member of the Elk City United Methodist Church, the Barbour County Senior Center, and in early years was a former Girl Scout troop leader. Jeanne was preceded in death by her parents James and Mary Simon; brother, James H. Simon; sister-in-law Marvella Simon; sister, Mary Louise Simon; son-in-law Robert “Bob” Cleavenger; and her K-9 companions, Ruyshka and Dante. Friends will be received at the Wright Funeral Home and on-site Crematory 220 N. Walnut St. Philippi on Thursday April 27, from 6-8 pm and on Friday April 29, from 8- 11am. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 am. with Pastor Tami Shoup officiating. Interment will follow in the WV National Cemetery.
