Margaret Eloise Johnson

Margaret Eloise (Poling) Johnson, age 73, a resident of Union Community passed away Saturday May 10, 2025 at her residence from declining health.

Margaret was born February 13, 1952 in Belington a daughter of Ervin James and Olgie (Norman) Poling. Margaret was united in marriage on December 4, 1967 to Donald Hugh Johnson who survives at home.

Also surviving is her children Mary Myers and husband Bob, Tammy Chenoweth and husband Danny, and Samuel Johnson and wife Chastity; two sisters Lucy Robinson and Leona Weaver; also 12 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild on the way.

Margaret was preceded in death by one son Michael Roy Johnson, one grandson, one granddaughter, two sons-in-law, one grandson-in-law; brothers Butch, Junior, Gene, Johnny and David; sisters Betty, Juanita, and Ruth Ann; half sister Mary Helen; half-brother Robert.

She worked as a daycare provider for many years. She enjoyed canning, gardening, word searches and watching wildlife.

Friends will be received at the Wright Funeral Home and on-site Crematory 220 N. Walnut St. Philippi on Wednesday May 14, from 10 am- 2 pm. Funeral services will be conducted in the funeral home chapel with Speaker Russell Burner officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Vernon Memorial Cemetery.
