Maribeth Lantz

Maribeth Lantz, age 62, a resident of Clarksburg, passed away Wednesday April 19, 2023 in the Untied Hospital Center in Bridgeport. Maribeth was born February 3, 1961 in Clarksburg, WV a daughter of the late Charles Clem Freeland and Anna May (Bailey) Freeland.

Surviving is children; Chris Stewart of Clarksburg, Marianna Barker and partner Tracy Forquer of Buckhannon; step children, Derek Lantz of Washington DC, Chastity Johnson of Walton, WV; grandchildren, Hope Sponaugle, Fiona Murphy, Taylor Lantz, Blake Lantz, Grayson Lantz, Kaetie and Abby Johnson; brother, Dave Freeland and wife Karen of Sardis; and many extended family members.

Maribeth was preceded in death by her parents Charles and Anna May; grandmother, Mary Newlon; husband Randy Lantz; and granddaughter, Tawny Johnson.
Maribeth worked for Sheetz in Philippi and Job Squad Inc. in Bridgeport. She loved time with her children and grandchildren. Maribeth enjoyed tending to flower beds, and spending countless hours setting on the porch swing. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, and anchor. We will miss you and we will continue to make you proud.

Friends will be received at the Wright Funeral Home and on-site Crematory 220 N. Walnut St. Philippi on Monday April 24, from 12- 2 pm. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 pm with Pastor Howard Swick officiating.
