Mary Ann Hudkins

Mary Ann Hudkins, age 76, a resident of Philippi, passed away Thursday May 26, 2022 in the United Hospital Center in Bridgeport.  Mary was born January 15, 1946 in Galloway, WV a daughter of the late Ruble and Myrtle (Boyles) Fridley.  Mary was united in marriage to Donald Bryan Hudkins who preceded her in death.  Surviving is daughter, Tammy Daugherty of Philippi,  grandsons, John Tyler Armstrong and wife Marissa of Philippi, and Richard Seth Daugherty of Philippi,  great grandchildren, Emslee Grace Armstrong of Philippi, sisters, Virginia “Jenny” Moore of Ravenna, OH, Brenda Qualls and husband Willard “Sonny” of Bayard, WV, Nancy Keller and husband Garry of Philippi, brother, Mickey Fridley and Chris of Philippi.  Mary was also preceded in death by sister, Betty Joann Ashby.  Mary worked as a clerk for the Barbour County Health Department.  She served in the US Navy. Mary adored her grandchildren and her K-9 companion Brownie, she enjoyed working in her yard and tending to her flowers.

Friends will be received at the Wright Funeral Home and Crematory 220 N. Walnut St. Philippi on Tuesday May 31, from 4-6 pm. Funeral services will be conducted at 6 pm with Pastor Donna Marshall officiating.  Family and friends will gather at Wright Funeral Home and Crematory on Wednesday June 1 at 10:15 am to proceed to WV National Cemetery for an 11am graveside service. Military honors being accorded by the US Navy and Belington American Legion Post #96.
