Mattie Oglivia Chisolm, age 77, a resident of Philippi, passed away Sunday June 20, 2021 at her residence surrounded by her family. Mattie was born January 6, 1944 in Eckman, WV a daughter of the late William Daniel and Ethel Mae (Johnson) Canty. Mattie was united in marriage in October of 1997 to Richard Charles Chisolm, Jr. who preceded her in death on June 26, 2007. Surviving-

Mattie was preceded in death by grandchildren, James Canty, Jr., La’Mai Mitchell, and five sisters.
Mattie was a homemaker, she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Mattie was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church in Elkins, WV
In honor of Mattie’s request cremation will be honored and a celebration of life service will be held at the convenience of the family at a later date.
