Nancy Lee (Cleavenger) Zetty, age 70, a resident of Rt. 1 Volga passed away Thursday July 1, 2010 at her residence. She was born May 19, 1940 at Volga a daughter of the late Goin L. and Etta (O’Brien) Cleavenger. She was united in marriage on April 21, 1963 to Lloyd Burton Zetty who survives at home. Also surviving are:
Two daughters: Julie Ann (Zetty) Scott and husband Roger F. of Rt. 1 Volga
Joyce Dawn (Zetty) McClelland and husband David of Kingwood, WV
One son: Bruce Lee Zetty and wife Stephani of Parkersburg
One brother: Larry G. Cleavenger and wife Mary of Volga
Five grandchildren: Jacob and Joshua Scott, Amanda, Jessica and Erin McClelland, and Madeline Kate Zetty
Several nieces, nephews and cousins
She was preceded in death by one brother: Alva Charles Cleavenger
Mrs. Zetty was a life-long active member of the Mt. Vernon (Criss) United Methodist Church having served in various positions. Graduate of PHS Class of 1958.
She was a secretary-bookkeeper for her husband’s company (Z & C Construction) for some 30 years. She was first employed by Parson-Souders of Clarksburg, secretary of Barbour County Health Dept. for seven yrs. and most recently retired in 2005 as secretary with 15 years service to Alderson-Broaddus College, a time she truly treasured.
Friends will be received at the Wright Funeral Home 216 N. Walnut St. Philippi on Saturday July 3, from 5-8 p.m. and on Sunday July 4 from 8 a.m. -1 p.m. at which time she will be moved the Mt. Vernon United Methodist Church to lie in state from 2-3 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. with Dr. Jim Steinspring and Rev. Linda Payton officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Vernon Memorial Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Mt.
