Nelson K. Burner, age 74, a resident of Rt. 4 Cherry Hill Rd. Philippi passed away Thursday May 3, 2012 at his residence. He was born June 2, 1937 in Barbour Co. a son of the late Herman Clyde and Mossoe Pauline (Carder) Burner. He was united in marriage April 30, 1966 to Judy M. (Bartlett) Burner who survives. Betty Lou Wilmoth and husband Johnny of Barberton, OH
Billie Jane Beohm of Philippi
One brother; Larry Burner and wife Delma of Barberton, OH
Two grandsons; Gunnar Dale Miller, and Levi Nelson Davis, step granddaughter: Erika Taylor Poling.
Nelson had a special relationship with several nieces and nephews
Nelson was preceded in death by one daughter: Jamie Cleavenger, five brothers; Clyde Jr., James, Gene, Richard, Jerry Burner, one sister; Jane Cline.
Nelson worked as a mechanic for Barbour Coal Company, Poling Trucking, and WV Department of Highways. He served in the US Army from 1962-63, he loved watching nascar, spending time with his puppy Tiger and his family.
Friends will be received at the Wright Funeral Home 216 N. Walnut St. Philippi on Saturday May 5, from 2-8 pm and on Sunday May 6, from 8 am – 3 pm the service hour with Rev. David Mellquist and Pastor John Dixon officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Olive Cemetery with military rites being accorded.
