Norma Jean Canfield Lawrence, a resident of Nella’s Nursing Home of Crystal Springs passed from this life on Saturday August 1, 202 at Davis Medical Center after an extended illness. She was born in Montrose, on January 9, 1942 a daughter of the late John Canfield and Goldie (Cross) Canfield. She was united in marriage to Floyd Ashby Lawrence on August 5, 1960 in Montrose, WV by the Reverend A. Brooke Withers. Wednesday would have been their 60th wedding anniversary.
Norma is survived by her spouse Floyd “Jake” Lawrence, a resident of Mansfield Place in Philippi and by three sons,
Jake Lawrence and wife Lara of Philippi, their son Matthew also of Philippi
Ricky Lawrence and wife Debra of Belington and their children, Joshua Vandevander of Fairmont, Todd Lawrence and wife Cheyenne and their son Walker of Parson, Kimberly Lawrence of Belington
John Lawrence and wife Gayle of Elkins, and his daughter Aliyah
She is also by two sisters Genevia Stark of Elkins and Ruth Carr of Belington, one brother Ward Canfield of Porterfield Community near Parsons, WV, and half sister Helen Biggs of Philippi
Norma was preceded in death by her siblings, twin brother Charles Canfield, Elwood Canfield, Sance Canfield, and Silvia Saxberg.
Norma was a homemaker who loved her family and her lord and savior above all else. She was a kind soul and will be missed greatly by those who knew and loved her.
Norma’s life was blessed with love from family and friends and her family ask that you take an extra moment with your loved ones, or offer a helping hand to someone in need in her memory.
A celebration of Norma’s life will be held at a later date.
