Olin Russell Campbell, Jr., 86, of Philippi, WV, went to his heavenly home on February 22, 2021, after eight months of struggle with mesothelioma.
He was born on May 28, 1934 in Philippi, WV, a son of the late Olin and Mae (Suder) Campbell.
On December 21, 1957, he married Marjorie Murray who survives.
He is survived by three children: two daughters, Rhonda Blankenship of Panama City, FL, and Carla Weaver and husband Dale of Morgantown, WV and one son, Ross Campbell and wife Molly of Buckhannon, WV. He is survived by four grandchildren: Janna Camperman and husband David of Panama City, FL, and Eli, Alayna and Carys Campbell of Buckhannon, WV. He is also survived by one great- grandson, Simeon Camperman of Panama City, FL.
Olin graduated from Philippi High School in 1952 and from West Virginia University in 1956. He went to Long Island, NY, to work as a mechanical engineer for Sperry Gyroscope Company. After 39 years he retired and moved back to Philippi where he began a second career as owner of The Office Store on Main Street. He retired again in 2016.
The family will receive friends at Philippi Baptist Church on Sunday, February 28, 2021, from 2 to 5 p.m. There will be a brief memorial service at 3:30 which will also be live on https://www.pbcwv.net.
