Patricia Ann Cochran, age 82 of Philippi, WV passed away at home on Monday, April 15, 2024. She was born August 6, 1941 to Juanita Lee (Poling) and Ernest Lee. She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Charles Calvin Cochran. She is survived by her three daughters, Yvette (Jim) Dunbar of Little Hocking, OH, Celeste Cochran (Tracy Talkington) of Volga, WV, and Chandra (Vince) Gamez of Orland Hills, IL, her three grandchildren Alanna (Rob) Metz of Philippi, WV, Andrew Gamez of Nashville, TN, and Jacob Gamez of Orland Hills, IL, two great-grandsons Theodore and Elliott Metz. She is also survived by her sister Glenna Feathers of Newburg and was preceded in death by her brother Albert Lee of Newburg. She had several adoring nieces and nephews.
Patricia graduated from Newburg High School in 1959 and was a member of Silent Grove Church of Philippi. She worked for the United States Postal Service and retired as Postmaster of the Thornton Post Office after 30 years of service. She had a lifelong love of reading and playing word games. After retirement she worked hand in hand with Charles on their farm where they spent countless hours gardening and canning together. She also enjoyed working puzzles, cooking and quilting. She was passionate about politics, patriotism and enjoyed performing her civic duty by working the election polls. She had lots of laughs and found plenty of mischief with her dear friend Betty Poe. She was also very appreciative of the many years of valued trust and friendship from her “buddy” Terry Mayle. In later years, she enjoyed endless hours of snuggle time and companionship with her beloved dog Chloe.
Family and friends may call at Wright Funeral Home and on-site Crematory 220 N. Walnut St., Philippi, on Wednesday, April 17, 2024 from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm as well as on Thursday, April 18, 2024 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm. Funeral services will begin at 1:00 pm with Pastor Bryan Headley officiating. Entombment will follow in the Bryan Memorial Mausoleum.
