Paul R. Green, age 86, a resident of 104 Keyes Ave. and former resident of N. Walnut St. Philippi passed away Friday, August 6, 2010 in Mansfield Place of Broaddus Hospital. He was born on January 12, 1924 in Philippi, WV, a son of the late Jesse Waitman and Winnie Leah (Zinn) Green. He was united in marriage in Oakland, Maryland on October 22, 1949 to Jean (Williams) Green, who preceded him in death January 15, 1994.

One Son, Paul Michael and wife Tiffani Michelle Green, Philippi
One Brother, Robert “Bobby” Green, Philippi
One grand-daughter, Kira Jo Green
One step grandson, Robbie Swanson
Two great-grandchildren, Kemper Ryan and Ashton Michael
Mr. Green was preceded in death by five sisters: Ruth Markley, Pearl Titchnell, Goldie Stewart, Gladys Cleavenger and Betty Sutton; and five Brothers: Kenneth Green, Dorsey Green, Karl Green, William Green and Ralph Green.
He worked as a milkman for Glenn Dairy, having 30 years of service. He was also self-employed as a painter for 25 years.
He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII in the Pacific and was a member of American Legion Post #44.
He was a graduate of Philippi High School Class of 1942 and attended Presbyterian Church of Belington.
Friends will be received at the Wright Funeral Home 216 N. Walnut St. Philippi on Saturday, August 7, 2010 from 5-8 p.m. and on Sunday, August 8, 2010 8:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. the service hour with Rev. Joanne Glaser officiating. Interment will follow in the Belington Fraternal Cemetery with military honours being accorded.
