Paul McLean

Paul Lawson McLean, age 72 a resident of Good Samaritan Society of Barbour County and a former resident of Rt. 1 Meadow Heights Philippi passed away Saturday October 1, 2011. He was born June 3, 1939 in Philippi a son of the late Monzal and Roxie (Bennett) McLean. He was united in marriage to Martha A. (Swick) McLean who survives. Also surviving are: Two daughters: Pauletta Bailey and husband Larry Virgie Nancy McLean both of Philippi Three sons: Danny McLean and wife Sandy of Philippi Jimmy McLean and wife Paula of Belington Nathaniel McLean of Philippi eight grandchildren: Larry Wayne Bailey Jr., David Bailey, Melissa Black, DJ McLean, Benjamin McLean, Nicholas Vincent Butchie Vincent, Meshach Vincent five great grandchildren: Kayle Hickey, Grace Bailey, Kristi Bailey, Layla Black, Karissa Black Two nephews: Lafayette Lynn Murphy Chris Moats both of Philippi Mr. McLean was preceded in death by one daughter: Debra "Bubba" Sue (McLean) Phillips, two sisters: Dora Murphy, Rosetta Moats. In earlier years Mr. McLean was a truck driver for the City of Philippi. He enjoyed the outdoors, loved to sing gospel music and performed with the Spiritual 5. He was a the assistant pastor at Joseph Chapel Church. Friends will be received at the Wright Funeral Home 216 N. Walnut St. Philippi on Tuesday October 4 from 10-2 pm the service hour with Rev. Danny McLean and Speaker Benny McLean officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Olive Cemetery.
