Paulette C. Moats, age 72, a resident of Silent Grove Rd. passed away Thursday March 17, 2016 in Broaddus Hospital. She was born July 5, 1943 in Philippi a daughter of the late Herbert and Eula “Boots” (Kerr) Bowers. Surviving is

Paulette worked at Southern States, Philippi Inn, and GC Murphy’s, before becoming owner of Odds N Ends Craft Shop, she was an avid crafter and loved to travel with her grandson.

Paulette was a Methodist by faith and a member of the Crim Memorial United Methodist Church, she aslo attended Silent Grove Church.

Friends will be received at the Wright Funeral Home 220 N. Walnut St. Philippi on Saturday March 19, from 3-8 pm and on Sunday March 20, from 8 am- 2 pm the service hour with Pastor Bryan Headley officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Vernon Memorial Cemetery.

I WOULD STOP IN HER SHOP AND VISIT WITH HER. SHE WOULD TALK ABOUT HER GRANDSON. SHE LOVED HIM SO MUCH. SHE SHARED THE MANY ADVENTURES SHE HAS WITH HIM AND HIS ACTIVITIES. SHE WAS A NICE LADY AND I WILL REMEMBER HER ALWAYS.

Many years ago when I was a young and very poor girl, Paulette gave me a gift Ive never forgotten. Even as a teenager, she showed her kind and giving heart by giving me a quarter for the carnival. It was a small gift with a huge impact to me. God bless and comfort her family in their time of grief. They now have an angel looking over them.

Paulette took care of my little girl in her home. I can still see her standing at the back door saying goodbye to Kiersten as she left for the day. I am thankful for her good and tender care. May God bring comfort to Paula and all the family.
