Perry W. Weaver, Jr. age 71, a resident of Mt. Liberty Community Philippi, passed away Tuesday March 14, 2023 in the United Hospital Center in Bridgeport. Perry was born December 4, 1951 in Elkins, WV a son of the late Oliver “Duke” and Evelyn (Sinsel) Weaver. Perry was united in marriage on November 22, 1989 to Karen Jean (Booth) McPherson Weaver who survives at home. Also surviving is step-children, Michael McPherson and wife Kim, Kevin McPherson and wife Sandy, Lisa Sell and husband Chad; step-grandchildren, Jennifer Elswick, Shawn McPherson, Josh Higgins, Bryan Hedrick and companion Brooke, Casey Cutright and husband Daniel, Tyler and companion Chasity, Erik and Amy McPherson, Jimmy Smith, Angie Setler and husband Jonathan; step-great grandchildren, Breyden and Grayson Hedrick, Wrenley Cutright, Haylee Ketterman, Brayden Elswick, Miraya and Jace Hoffman, Raelynn and Ryder Sayres, Lilly Smith, Ryder Setler; brother, Mark Weaver and sister Linda Kimble; several nieces, nephews and other family members.
Perry was preceded in death by brothers, Ronald Skidmore, Eddie Skidmore, Jack Weaver, and Neil Weaver. He was a Christian by faith and was a member of the Belington Church of Christ. Perry served in the US Air Force. Later in life he was a heavy equipment operator working for Kanawha Stone, Keistler Coal Co., and Sunrise Construction. Perry enjoyed fishing, gardening, camping, and hanging out with new friends he and his wife would meet while camping. Perry’s main joy in life was spending time with his stepchildren. He was a great man and will be missed by so many.
Friends will be received at the Wright Funeral Home and onsite Crematory 220 N. Walnut St. Philippi on Friday March 17, from 1-6 pm. Funeral services will be conducted at 6 pm with Speaker Roanld Holbert officiating. In honor of Perry’s wishes cremation will be honored.
