Priscilla Jo Hathaway, age 71, a resident of Grafton, and a former resident of Philippi, died suddenly at her home on Thursday August 27, 2020.
Priscilla was born September 25, 1948 in Petersburg, WV, daughter of the late Calvin C. Sponaugle and Juanita M. (Harman) Sponaugle. Surviving is her only son Jason C. Hathaway and his partner, Jean-Baptiste Monnier, both of Paris, France
Priscilla is also survived by 4 siblings, Randy Sponaugle and wife Sharon of Morgantown, Marilyn Rowe Williamson and husband Clarance of Indianapolis, IN, Hadley Sponaugle and wife Linda of Belington and Robin Pingley and husband David of Tacy, as well as two nieces Carrie Boyles and husband James of Philippi, Shelbe Sponaugle of Morgantown one nephew Andrew Pingley of Norton and one grand-niece, Jordan Boyles whom she adored
Also surviving are a stepson, Rick Hathaway and family if Philippi and two dear friends Ellen Hully, and Brenda Satterfield both of Grafton.
Priscilla was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 26 years Delmer H. Hathaway, as well as her partner of 23 years, Leroy B. Cutlip.
Priscilla enjoyed spending time with family and loved traveling to France to visit her son.
Friends will be received at the Wright Funeral Home and Crematory 220 N. Walnut St. Philippi on Tuesday September 1, from 4-8 pm and on Wednesday September 2, from 8- 9:30 am. A mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 am at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church. Interment will follow in the Barbour Memorial Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to a charity of your choice.
