Ralph Smith

Ralph Lewis Smith, age 92, a resident of Sawmill Rd. Buckhannon passed away at his residence on Thursday September 18, 2014. He was born January 28, 1922 in Norton, WV a son of the late Columbus and Ada (Stalnaker) Smith. He was united in marriage on July 10, 1948 to Genieve R. (Scheitlin) Smith who preceded him in death on July 28, 1998

Mr. Smith was preceded in death by two brothers; Harold H. Smith and Kenneth Smith and foster daughter Penny Smith

Mr. Smith retired from the B & O Railroad as a yard foreman. He served in the US Navy from 1942-1946. He was a member of the American Legion Post #96, he enjoyed playing bingo and attending various churches.

Friends will be received at the Wright Funeral Home 216 N. Walnut St. Philippi on Sunday September 21, from 5-8 pm. Friends will be received on Tuesday September 23, at the Charles S. Zeiler and Sons Funeral Home 6224 Eastern Ave. Balitmore, MD from 9 am- 12 pm. Funeral service will be conducted at 12 pm. Interment will follow in the Holly Hills Memorial Gardens in Baltimore.
