Reta Reginna Koontz

Reta Reginna Koontz age 62 a resident of Rt. 2 Philippi passed away on Tuesday, November 15, 2011 at her residence. She was born December 12, 1948 in Philippi, WV a daughter of the late Dorsey and Betty (Sandy) Upton. She was united in marriage in October 1968 to Thomas F. Koontz who survives. Also surviving is,
one son, Ronald Eugene Koontz and companion Shannon Weidlich of Grafton
two sisters, Chris Fridley and husband Mick of Philippi
Tina Holliday and husband Randy of Flemington
one brother, John Upton and wife Karen of Philippi
four grandchildren, Cody, Drake, Shakira and Ronda Koontz all of Grafton
Mrs. Koontz was preceded in death by one brother, Dorsey Upton, Jr.
She was a homemaker, and had worked as a manager of Barbour Lanes.
She enjoyed camping, swimming, 4-wheelers, cooking, planting flowers, crocheting, and watching movies.
Mrs. Koontz attended People's Chapel Church
Friends will be received at the Wright Funeral Home 216 N. Walnut St. Philippi on Thursday, November 17 from 5-8 pm and on Friday, November 18 from 8 am-1 pm the service hour with Pastor Ruston Seaman officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Vernon Memorial Cemetery.

Much love and prayers to the family. Rita was a wonderful,loving person with a kind heart for everyone. Rita will be greatly missed. Rest in the arms of our Saviour, sweet Rita.
Reta was a very caring person. In my own personal tragedy she was one of the first to reach out and give me comfort. I will always remember her for her kindness.
