Robert Joel Pitzer, age 79, a resident of Kasson Rd. Moatsville, passed away Monday October 14, 2013 at his residence. He was born July 28, 1934 in Barbour Co. a son of the late Roy and Mary Pearl (Scott) Pitzer. He was united marriage December 25, 1954 to Bernice J. (Phillips) Pitzer who survives. Also surviving

Three brothers; Delmus Pitzer of Belington

Eight grandchildren: Chad Phillips of Germany, Richard Pitzer of Clarksburg, Lisa Cross of Belington, Roger Neil Pitzer of Morgantown, Ashley Pitzer of Bridgeport, Tyler Pitzer of Bridgeport, Lindsey Mick of Buckhannon, Bethanie Mick of Buckhannon
Mr. Pitzer was preceded in death by one son; Robert Neil Pitzer, one brother; Roy Ellis Pitzer, one sister; Geraldine Louis Majiros
Mr. Pitzer worked as a timber cutter for Carl S. Shaffer, worked at Feltons Dairy, was a forman for GW Peoples Construction, was owner and operator of Pitzer Service Center, and was a bus driver for Barbour County Schools.
Mr. Pitzer served in the US Army during 1957-59 he was a sharpshooter and served on the Military Police. He loved hunting and fishing, and was a Methodist by faith.
Friends will be received at the Wright Funeral Home 216 N. Walnut St. Philippi on Wednesday October 16, from 3-8 pm and on Thursday October 17, from 8- 10 am the service hour. Interment will follow in the WV National Cemetery with full military honours being accorded. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association 1701 North Beauregard St. Alexandria, VA 2311, American Heart Association 7272 Greenville Ave. Dallas, TX 75231, Mountain Hospice 1800 Crim Ave. Belington, WV 26250, or Good Samaritan Society of Barbour County Rt. 3 Box 15 C Belington, WV 26250.







So sorry 4 the loss of Bob, he drove my son 2 school many days, he was a very nice bus driver, and he looked out 4 the little ones, like my son was at that time, he made sure i as home 2 get him, we r very thankful 4 that, we know Lisa, the grandaughter and we also know Bill and Sherri, very good people, may the Lord comfort u and guide u in the days, weeks, and months ahead, so very sorry.
