Rodney Lowell Jones, age 85, a resident of Union Community, passed away Saturday, July 1, 2023. He was born March 26, 1938, a son of the late Russell Jones and Mildred (Shaffer) Jones.
Surviving are children; LeAnn Golden and spouse Sam Golden, Timmy Jones and fiancé Aly Cole, Lelani Love, Antia Whitehair, and Stephanie Heatherly; grandchildren Erika and Vincent Jones; brothers Allen Jones, Roger Jones, and Russell Jones Jr.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings Marietta, Marion, and Paul.
Rodney served in the US Army. He loved writing songs, books, and short stories. He also enjoyed traveling to new places, carpentry, photography, and gardening. He will be greatly missed.
Friends, family, and the community are invited to the Union Community building on Saturday, July 8, from noon to 3 pm to attend lunch in his honor.
