Ronald Hu Skidmore, Sr. age 75 a resident of Moatsville passed away on Tuesday, September 1, 2015 at his residence. He was born April 18, 1940 in Kasson a son of the late William “Bill” Skidmore and Evelyn (Sinsel) Skidmore Weaver and step-father Oliver Duke Weaver. He was united in marriage for 56 years to Georgia (Triplett) Skidmore who survives. Also surviving are-

One great-grandchild, Cassidy Hope Sell
Mr. Skidmore was preceded in death by two brothers, Edward Skidmore; Jackie Weaver and one son, Ronald Hu Skidmore, Jr.
Mr. Skidmore worked at Bethlehem Coal Mines as a shuttle car operator, he was a laborer for Sunrise Construction, and retired from Barbour County Schools as a bus driver.
He served in the US Army from 1959-62. Mr. Skidmore was a member of the Bigelow Lodge #59 AF & AM, VFW Post #410, Barbour County Senior Center, he was a member and former superintendent at the Kasson United Methodist Church. He enjoyed deer hunting and attending tractor pulls. Mr. Skidmore was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather.
Friends will be received at the Wright Funeral Home 220 N. Walnut St. Philippi on Thursday September 3, from 3-8 pm and on Friday September 4, from 8 am – 1 pm the service hour with Pastor Bill Lanham officiating. Interment will follow in the Central Chapel Cemetery with graveside rites being conducted by Bigelow Lodge #59, and military honors being accorded.
