Russell Snider

Russell Lowell Snider, age 81, a resident of Rt. 1 Philippi passed away Saturday April 7, 2012 in the Louis A. Johnson VA Medical Center. He was born March 11, 1931 in Philippi a son of the late Verl Barnett and Mildred Elizabeth (Dadisman) Snider. He was united in marriage on September 3, 1959 to Barbara E. (Jones) Snider who survives at home. Also surviving is; One daughter: Kelli Hadsell and Bruce Hadsell of Bridgeport One son: Kevin Snider and companion Debbie Mitchell of Philippi Two brothers: Rodney Snider of Philippi Gerald Snider and wife Dorothy of Mannington six grandchildren, three great grandchildren. Russell was preceded in death by one sister: Marciele Thompson, two brothers: Roy and Ronald Snider. He retired from Family Chevrolet as an auto body repairman. He served in the US Army from 1952-54 and in the Army Reserves from 1954-60. Russell was a lifetime member of the VFW post #410 and the American Legion Post #44. He was baptized from the Central Church of Christ in Clarksburg. Friends will be received at the Wright Funeral Home 216 N. Walnut St. Philippi on Monday April 9, from 6-8 pm. In honor of Russell's request cremation will follow.
