Sharon Sue Dickenson

October 20, 1944 ~ October 23, 2021

Sharon Sue Dickenson, 77, went to be with The Lord on October 23, 2021, after an extended illness. She was born on October 20, 1944, in Clarksburg and resided in Philippi most of her life. Sharon professed Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior, and believed that Jesus Christ died for her sins and is now spending eternity in God’s glory! Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, Robert E. and Mary Louise Stewart, brother, Jack D. Stewart, and son-in-law Doward “Gene” Matlick. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Carl W. Dickenson, Jr., three daughters, Carla Skidmore and husband Robert “Bobby” Skidmore; Lisa Swartz and husband, William David Swartz, Kelly Matlick and fiancé, Darren Hatfield. Also surviving, the light of her life, her grandchildren and great grandchildren, Logan Carl Swartz, Elijah Cole Matlick and wife Taylor Matlick, Hannah Howdershelt and husband Zachary Howdershelt, Noah Ryan Matlick, Lindsey Paige Swartz, Jesiah Seth Matlick, Jackson Lee Matlick, Dawson Joel Matlick, Sutton Faith Howdershelt and Gentry Michael Howdershelt. She is also survived by two brothers and two sisters. Robert Stewart and wife Nancy, Kathy Rexroad and husband Michael, Brenda Rinker and husband, Buster, Stephen Stewart and wife, Debie and many nieces and nephews. Sharon was a loving and dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother. Her most joyous moments in life were always centered around her husband, children, and grandchildren. The family will hold a private graveside service at Mt. Vernon Memorial Cemetery

    Sharon was the type of person, that when you met her, she became a good friend.
    I can remember talking to her on the phone or in person like we had known each other all our lives.
    I know it is so very sad to be without her, but you can rejoice that she is at peace and flying high in Heaven now!!
