Shirley Thompson

Shirley Ann (Austin) Thompson age 67 a resident of Rt. 3 Hacker Creek Philippi passed away Saturday October 24, 2009 surrounded by her family in Ruby Memorial Hospital. She was born September 25, 1942 in Grafton a daughter of the late Raymond and Hazel Ruth (Cox) Austin. She was united in marriage October 7, 1975 to Michael L. Thompson who survives. Also surviving is; One daughter; Betty Tretinik of Morgantown Five sons; Steve and wife Marie Blake of Masontown Charlie and Barb Blake of Junior Clifford and Jenny Blake of Elkins Mark Blake of Columbus, OH Dorsey and wife Angie Thompson, of Moatsville Several nieces and nephews 12 grandchildren; Hillary and Herb Smitley, Fawna Orich, Stephanie and Fiance William Morel, Steven Blake, Bobby and Amy Martin, James Blake, Chastady Talkington, Greg Blake, Alex and Andrew Thompson Four great grandchildren; Jasime, Tia Anna, Dustin Smitley, Logan Martin Mrs. Thompson was preceded in death by one brother; Charles Lee Austin, one sister Evelyn Kellaway. Mrs. Thompson worked as a Home Health Care provider for the Senior Citizen Center for over 20 years. She loved animals, traveling, shopping and puzzles. She belonged to the Barbour Co. Relay for Life and was a team member of Circle of Hope. She was a Christian by faith. Friends will be received at the Wright Funeral Home 216 N. Walnut St. Philippi on Tuesday October 27, from 5-8:00 p.m. and on Wednesday October 28, from 8:00 a.m. -1:00 p.m. the service hour with Pastor Howard Swick officiating. Interment will follow in the Knottsville Cemetery in Grafton.
