Steven Michael Shaw, age 59, a resident of Philippi, passed away Friday February 1, 2019 at his daughter’s residence. Steven was born August 3, 1959 in Elkins, WV a son of the late Donald Hartman Shaw and Jessie Lou Shaw who survives. Also surviving-
Daughter, Michelle Daugherty and husband Scot of Philippi
Son, Steven Knight and wife Summer of Philippi
Brothers, James Shaw of Philippi
Donald Shaw and wife Paige of Philippi
Four grandchildren, Ethan Lane and Darcy Dainne Knight, Ireland Ann and Liam James Daugherty
Steven was preceded in death by his former wife Norma Shaw, son Robert James Shaw, brother Thomas Shaw
Steven worked as an Equipment Operator on the strip mines, he had worked as a drill operator for different oil and gas companies, and was an avid farmer.
Friends will be received at the Wright Funeral Home 220 N. Walnut St. Philippi on Tuesday February 5, from 3-8 pm. In honor of Steven’s request cremation will be honored and will follow. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.wrightfuneralhomeservices.com

I am so sorry. I remember all the fun times playing with Steve and his brothers at his grandparents home.
Prayers for all concerned. May God give you peace through the Prince of Peace in this difficult season of life.
So sorry for the loss of Steve, i never knew Steve, but i heard all good things about him, I know all of u will miss him dearly, but he is no longer suffering in this world, he id in the arms of the Lord, may God bless all of u in the days, weeks, and months ahead, we r now weeping, and Steve is rejoicing, God bless all of u.
My thoughts and prayers go out to Michelle and the family. I only knew Steven for a short time but he made a great impact on me with his steady sense of humor and charming personality despite the pain he was suffering. I feel honored to have met him. He will truly be missed.
