Suzanne "Suzie" Gribble

December 21, 1954 ~ November 19, 2018

Suzanne “Suzie” Poling Depriest Gribble, age 63, a resident of Philippi passed away unexpectedly on Monday November 19, 2018 in the United Hospital Center. Suzie was born on December 21, 1954 in Philippi a daughter of the late Dr. Glenn B. Poling and Dr. Evangeline Poling who survives at Philippi. Suzie was twice married first on June 21, 1975 to Don DePriest who survives in Lancaster, SC, second on July 15, 1989 to Rusty Gribble who survives at their home in Philippi. Also surviving Daughter, Randi Renee Gribble of Philippi Sons, Scott Alan DePriest and wife Jessica of Wheeling Jeffrey Scott Gribble and wife Melanie of Philippi Grandchildren, Ava Marie DePriest, and Jonah Scott of Wheeling, Jaxson Scott Gribble and Camden Thomas of Philippi Sisters, Becki Poling, Antioch, TN Pam Washington of Philippi Julie Bailey and husband Frank of Louisville, KY Brothers, Phil Poling and wife Sandy of Easley, SC Danny Poling and wife Kathryn of Fairfax Station, VA Niece, Robin Rueff and husband Will of Louisville, KY Nephews, Troy Olsson and wife Irene of Alexandria, VA, Shawn Hornick of Weston, Michael Johnson and wife Michal of Dallas TX, Andrew Poling of Easley, SC, Paul Poling and Matt Poling both of Fairfax Station, VA, Logan Thorn of Fellowsburg Sister and brother-in-law, Amy and husband, John Thorn of Fellowsburg and Randy and wife Sandra Gribble of Philippi Great nieces and great nephews she loved dearly, Maggie, John, and Lucy Rueff of Louisville, KY Friends will be received at the Wright Funeal Home 220 N. Walnut St. Philippi on Tuesday, November 20, 2018 from 4-8pm and on Wednesday, November 21, 2018 from 8am-1pm the service hour with Rev. Krysta Rexrode Wolfe officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Olive Cemetery.

    So sorry for your loss. I'm in North Carolina with Jill and her boys and won't be home until Wednesday evening. I feel so bad that I won't be there for the viewing and funeral. Suzie was such a good friend and person. She was always so giving and there for anyone who needed her. She will truly be missed by everyone who knew her. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

  10. This has been an awful shock for everyone. I had just talked to Suzi. She had been a friend for years mostly touching out to each other because of work. She was a great person, friend and nurse. We have all lost a dear soul!! God bless you all.

  15. I did not know Suzie well but she was a lovely person. She helped take care of my husbands grandmother and was always friendly and smiling. So very sorry for your loss.

  18. She was joy to be around. I meet Susie when I moved to philippi 20 years ago. she was such a joy to be around make you laugh and open her arms to help you anyway she could. She spend a lot of her life involved in sport with her kids until they graduated. She still help out with the athletic boosters until she couldn't any more. She will be missed by many.
