Thomas Eugene Ravis, 70, passed away unexpectedly on March 30, 2022, in Bridgeport, WV
Tom was born on September 28, 1951 in Philippi, WV, to Steve Ravis and Lala(Stevens) Garlow.
Tom married Jacqueline “Jackie” (Anglin) Ravis on September 17, 1977. The couple had 1 child, TJ Ravis.
Tom was best known for his willingness to help others, he was always there for anyone that needed him. He was an avid fisherman, he enjoyed hunting, tinkering with lawnmowers, and just being the jack of all trades. Tom attended flea markets and yardsales trying to find the best bargains. Tom along with his son T.J. and wife Jackie, always enjoyed attending car shows and going to Pigeon Forge, TN. Tom retired in 2009 from AFG Glass factory after 33 years as a bridge back up operator.
Thomas is survived by Jackie Ravis – wife, of Bridgeport, T.J. Ravis – son of Flemington, sister-in-law’s, Judy Bowers and husband LeRoy of Philippi, Joyce Miller and husband Glen of Webster Springs, brother-in-law’s Gary Anglin and wife Peggy of North Carolina, Jeff Anglin and wife Tina of Moatsville, Jon Anglin and wife Kelly of Philippi. Tom considered Jeff and Jon Anglin not only his brother-in-law’s, but also as his own sons.
Thomas is preceded in death by Steve Ravis – father, Lala Garlow – mother, and Jerry Ravis – brother
Friends will be received at the Wright Funeral Home and Crematory 220 N. Walnut St. Philippi on Monday April 4, from 3-8 pm and on Tuesday April 5, from 8 am- 2 pm. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 pm with Pastor Bryan Headley officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Vernon Memorial Cemetery.
