Virgil Collins

Virgil Allen Collins age 68 a resident of Rt. 2 Philippi passed away Tuesday, November 24, 2009 at his residence. He was born on September 25, 1941 in Barbour Co. a son of the late Roy Clayton and Myrtle (Kennedy) Collins. He was united in marriage in 1961 to Barbara Jane (Mayle) Collins who proceeded in death in 1986. Surviving are: Four Daughters; Donna Jean and husband Edward Davis Sheri Louise and husband John McDaniel Emily and husband Glenn Dalton Christina Collins, all of Philippi One Sister; Juanita Hurt, Oakland, Maryland One Brother; Osmar Mayle, Canton, Ohio Ten Grandchildren, and Nine Great-Grandchildren He was preceded in death by 1 daughter, Eleanor Lisa Hoag; One sister; Loretta Johnson and two brothers, Victor Collins and Kenneth Franklin Collins, and seven grandchildren. He was a steel mill worker for Public Steel in Ohio, coal miner, and worked as an attendant for Stemple-Forman Funeral Home. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and playing guitar and was a member of Ford Run Pentecostal Church.
