Woodrow Thomas Cole, age 69, a resident of Volga, passed away Thursday May 23, 2024 in the Emergency Department at Broaddus Hospital. Woodrow was born January 6, 1955 in Philippi, a son of the late Ora Bird (Wilson) Noel. Woodrow was united in marriage on July 29, 1973 to Mary Jane (Wentz) Cole who survives at home.
Woodrow enjoyed hunting, fishing, and being outdoors. He always would take his late k-9 companion Bella on her daily walks. Woodrow loved spending time with his family especially the time he spent spoiling his grandchildren.
Surviving is his wife Mary Cole; children Sue Shipley and Joe of TX, Woodrow Thomas Cole II, Christopher Lynn Cole, and Angel Starkey and husband Patrick all of Volga; grandchildren Hannah Cole, Brayden Cole, Isaiah Cole, McKenlee Stemple, Graysen Cole, Maxson Cole, Nolan Cole, Raelyn Starkey, Liala Cole, and expected grandson; siblings James Noel, Patty Carpenter, Betty Bartlett, and Michelle Carpenter.
Woodrow was preceded in death by his mother Ora Bird Noel; daughter Tabatha Cole; and grandson Landen Cole.
Friends will be received at the Wright Funeral Homea and on-site Crematory 220 N. Walnut St. Philippi on Wednesday May 29, from 1-3 pm. A celebration of life service will be held at 3 pm with Pastor Bryan Headley officiating.
