Zana Marie Welch, age 61, a resident of Rt. 1 Volga passed away Tuesday March 27, 2012 in the St. Francis Hospital in Charleston, WV. She was born February 12, 1951 in Montgomery, WV a daughter of the late Mason C. and Ruth Ann (Symonds) Payne. She was united in marriage July 27, 1973 to Naaman Welch Jr. who survives. One daughter: Holly Marie Welch of Volga
One son: Justin Nathan Welch and wife Charity Hope of Wadestown, WV
Three brothers: Ernie L. Payne and wife Vivian
Mason E. Payne and wife Sandy both of Volga
David M. Payne and Judy Poling of Buckhannon
One sister: Judith Ann Metz and husband Bam Bam of Buckhannon
One granddaughter: Reagan Quinn Welch
Zana was preceded in death by one sister Lisha Ruth Warner. In earlier years she worked for Broaddus Hospital as an office clerk and she was a homemaker. She enjoyed playing bingo with her mother, and shopping for her granddaughter.
Zana was a past member of the Mt. Vernon United Methodist Church.
Friends will be received at the Wright Funeral Home 216 N. Walnut St. Philippi on Thursday March 29, from 2-8 pm and on Friday March 30, from 8 am – 1 pm the service hour with Rev. Dr. Robert A. Sisler officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Vernon Memorial Cemetery.
