Zana Welch

Zana Marie Welch, age 61, a resident of Rt. 1 Volga passed away Tuesday March 27, 2012 in the St. Francis Hospital in Charleston, WV. She was born February 12, 1951 in Montgomery, WV a daughter of the late Mason C. and Ruth Ann (Symonds) Payne. She was united in marriage July 27, 1973 to Naaman Welch Jr. who survives. Also surviving is One daughter: Holly Marie Welch of Volga One son: Justin Nathan Welch and wife Charity Hope of Wadestown, WV Three brothers: Ernie L. Payne and wife Vivian Mason E. Payne and wife Sandy both of Volga David M. Payne and Judy Poling of Buckhannon One sister: Judith Ann Metz and husband Bam Bam of Buckhannon One granddaughter: Reagan Quinn Welch Zana was preceded in death by one sister Lisha Ruth Warner. In earlier years she worked for Broaddus Hospital as an office clerk and she was a homemaker. She enjoyed playing bingo with her mother, and shopping for her granddaughter. Zana was a past member of the Mt. Vernon United Methodist Church. Friends will be received at the Wright Funeral Home 216 N. Walnut St. Philippi on Thursday March 29, from 2-8 pm and on Friday March 30, from 8 am - 1 pm the service hour with Rev. Dr. Robert A. Sisler officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Vernon Memorial Cemetery.

  1. I graduated from high school with Zana in 1969 and am very sad to hear of her passing. My thoughts and prayers are with each of you and pray that GOD wraps his loving and comforting arms around you. Hold your memories close and she will always be with you.   3. Zana and I were great friends when we were young girls. She was one of the prettiest girls in high school and lit up the room with her laugh. I know her family will miss her greatly. . My deepest sympathies to you all.
